Dear Burt,

Thank you for your wonderful dog food. It has made a huge difference in the life of my three dogs. I have never adopted
a dog from you, but I have two rescue dogs of my own. I still have my first dog, “Woodie” - she is sixteen years old. At this point in life, she is more than a senior citizen, she is a priceless antique. Last summer, her age was really showing, and by September, she was hardly eating. That's when I first tried your dog food, after reading the many rave reviews on your website. She loved it from the first bite. She eats great and it has helped with the bowel problems that an old dog acquires.
I have always bought quality dog food, but she prefers yours.

My other rescue dog is “Winston.” He was in bad shape when he was first rescued, and still underweight at the time I had adopted him. He was the 'Pet of the Week' and he even looked skinny on TV. I have had "Winston" for two years and this is the first winter his coat has looked so healthy and full. He is a picky eater, but he, too, loves your food. The vet says he's in excellent health and maintaining a healthy weight.

My third dog is my lab, “Jack.” I've had him since he was a puppy. “Jack” has always had an over weight problem. Since the time he first tried your dog food last September, "Jack" has lost 22 pounds. The vet says he looks great and to
keep him at his current weight. "Jack" loves
your food, too, but he loves food period.

Last is my son, Joe. He loves your dog
food, too, because he loves “Woodie.”
Joe was four years old when we adopted
“Woodie” and that has always been his
dog. We are glad for every day we have
with our dogs, and if it helps them to
live longer in good health, it is well
worth it. It seems to be working.

I rescued a Great Dane around 4 months ago.

I've tried several foods such as Wellness, Pinnacle and so on.

The Wellness seemed to be working great until I bought a bag that stated new and improved formula (disaster!!)

I have never been able to keep his stomach from being upset with any food.

I ordered the 4 bags of your food, hoping for the best.

In 4 days of eating your dry food, he actually had normal stool.

I'm going on 4 weeks so far with your food. I'll never buy anything else again.

Dax is a good 148-150 pounds. I am going with the 7 1/2 cups a day and he's steady at his weight.

Dear Burt and Tracy,

The "kids" are wolfing it down like a kid turned loose in the candy store.

All 10 of the babies love the food.

Eric, our dogsitter, said that he had never seen the dogs eat with such gusto!

I gave him about 5# for his little toy Pom/Pap mix, and he just called and said that she wolfed it down, and that he has had lots of trouble finding food she likes.

Little "Tony" aka "Tiny Dancer" is living up to her new name - she dances and prances and has taken up "singing" as well.

She spends more time on her hind legs than on all fours, it seems like.

She is so funny - she stand up on her tip-toes and tries to "share" with "Big Jax" ("Clyde"), as he is eating on his special table.

He just looks at her and always leaves her about 2 kibbles (which he really wants, but he is so dear that he will usually leave her 1 or 2 kibbles) and then, she gobbles that down before she eats HER food.

I don't know why they go through this routine, but it is really quite funny to see them.

They are like Mutt and Jeff, but are certainly best friends.

Here is how we suggest that you feed your dogs to maximize their life span . . .

Feed Gentle Giants World Class Canine Cuisine only, because it is highly nutritious with low protein and low fat* **
Feed dry food only - Do not add canned food unless your dog is severely underweight or upon the advice of a veterinarian
Elevate all of your food and water bowls so that your dogs don't have to lean down to eat, they just tilt their heads to eat*
Do not limit the amount of dog food that you feed at each feeding. If your dogs are hungry, you may feed them more
Feed our dry food for 10 to 15 minutes only, and then remove all food* - Never free feed* - Always provide fresh water daily
Do not allow your dogs to exercise for 1 hour before and 1 hour after each feeding*
Do not feed for 1 hour after riding in a vehicle*
Feed your puppies under 6 months of age 7 to 8 times a day*

After feeding this food to Norco Animal Hospital dogs (boarding dogs and dogs recovering from surgery and illnesses) and my own personal dogs, I have found this food to be highly palatable and easily digestible.

Young dogs eating this food grow well and maintain a nice shiny coat.

The food is also bland enough for an older dog's sensitive stomach.

I also realized that the majority of this food is digested, resulting in less waste production (less stool) and therefore less clean up.

I strongly recommend this well balanced diet for all dog breeds.

Because we have been enormously successful in prolonging the healthy, happy lives of our Gentle Giants, we have strict adoption requirements so that our adopters can hopefully enjoy the same amazing success that we have had. Everyone wants their dog to live the longest, healthiest, happiest life, and if you agree to comply with our requirements, you will have the opportunity to love and enjoy a Gentle Giant from us and have your loving canine family member be with you nearly twice as long as you would have otherwise.

Our Gentle Giants and Little Giants are house dogs, not outside dogs. They must live inside your home as a member of your family, day and night, and go outside only to eat, to go to the bathroom, for short periods of play, and to be with you and your family whenever you are outside. At all other times, they must be inside the main living area of your home.

Many people have traditionally left their dogs outside during the day, and brought their dogs in only at night. Their dogs usually live short lives (in the case of Gentle Giants, usually 7 to 9 years). Some people leave their dogs outside day and night, and their dogs usually live even shorter lives.

We cater to the physical and emotional needs of our dogs and they live a lot longer.

For example, we allow our dogs the freedom to go outside whenever they want to, and conversely, the freedom to come back inside whenever they want to. These are the same freedoms that a human has.

So, it does take a little extra effort to pay attention to what your dog is trying to communicate to you. And by doing this, your dog feels that he or she has some say so in their life and they don't give up and resign themselves that they are either “cooped up” outside or “cooped up” inside. This freedom we give them enriches their emotional needs and their spirit, and they are happier. Happier dogs live longer.

Our dogs go outside every few hours (or sooner if they want to). Yes, they frolic and play in between feeding times. You can see that in the many photos on our website. But, after about 15 to 20 minutes, they've had enough and that frolic and play gets old for them and they want to come back into their "den" (figuratively speaking), which is their house (and if you adopt from us, your
house).

Our care and feeding program has worked magnificently for the thousands of giant breed dogs and many small breed dogs in the last 12 years here where we could see and experience and tabulate the results first hand. No one else in the country that we know of who cares for dogs has accomplished this or anywhere near this to our knowledge.

It is our love for these dogs and our total commitment to saving, enriching and lengthening their lives that has provided us with the opportunity to make a difference in the lives of these magnificient animals.

That is why we do what we do and why we have (what may seem strict to some people) the requirements that we have. In the end, the dogs we adopt have proven to be living longer, happier lives in their new adopted homes, and that has made their adopters happier because their loving canine companion is with them longer. Hi Tracy,

Just wanted to let you know that your 16 1/2 year old "Princess Leah" acts like she's a puppy.

She's Ed's baby. Follows him everywhere and loves her walks.

She's awesome!!!

I take "Marble" with me to the park on the weekends. All she wants is to be by my side.

YIPPEEEEE, I have my own dog, ha! ha!

"Sadie" is always causing some kind of ruckus. She's just like "Holly" in so many ways.

We will take some good photos of all of them and send them to you.

Thereafter, we will deliver four bags to you at a time (about a four month supply) as you need it. The delivered cost to your home or business is $43.50 per bag in Southern California ($174.00 for 4 bags) and $49.95 per bag outside Southern California ($199.80 for 4 bags).

The cost for feeding your giant breed dog amounts to about $1.41 to $1.61 a day, considerably less than feeding any of your other family members.

Hi Burt and Tracy,

Your excellent dog food has arrived and was gobbled up by ten (10) very willing "kids."

All three of our Wolfhounds (none of whom we received from your rescue) had what the vet referred to as "Leaky Gut Syndrome."

That means that they had malabsorption of their food and CONSTANT diarrhea.

As soon as the "Wolfs" WOLFED down their new breakfast (your dog food), they went outside, and for the first time in over 10 years, NO ONE had diarrhea!!

And I believe all your wonderful food was fully absorbed.
