Greeting Customers of Exotic African Art
Mark and "Jake" a Blue Great Dane, prepare to open their art gallery*
Jake and Kyanne, our two favorite kids:
Mark and I had a serious talk and decided we were ready.
With lots of love to give we were finally ready to start a family.
We discussed which way to go: traditional or adoption?
Unlike many of our friends, we chose adoption.
Boy or girl?
We chose one of each.
Two legged or four legged?
Unlike many of our friends, we chose 4-legged.
Instead of stocking up on diapers, changing tables or baby carriages, we chose pooper scoopers, collars and leashes.
Instead of carrying home little bundles of joy, we welcomed nearly 300 lbs (combined) of hairy, slobbering, adorable, unconditional love into our home.
"Jake" and "Kyanne."
Our adopted kids . . . in doggy suits.
Of course, some think it unusual that one of our kids "Jake" our great dane, is 180 lbs and stands taller than his mother or father at just 3 years old.
"Kyanne" a Russian Borzoi, came to us with the personality of a princess and immediately set about training us on how to treat her like royalty.
"Kyanne" a beautiful Borzoi sits with Jennifer amidst very valuable art
Having 8 new legs in the house is a joy and a handful.
We've traded 4:00 a.m. feedings for 6:00 a.m. walks in the park.
We've traded dealing with a temper tantrums for constant sloppy kisses.
Just like most new parents, we pay great attention to diet and exercise.
Our new "kids" survive and thrive on a wholesome organic diet that always includes freshly simmered and de-boned chicken and brown rice.
We take them on several long walks a day to meet and play with the other kids in the neighborhood (some in doggy suits and some of the 2-legged variety)
All are met by "Jake" with boundless enthusiasm!
"Kayanne" prefers to behave like a shy, timid lady.
That is until she decides to show her stuff.
From a frozen stand-still, she suddenly bursts forward at dizzying speeds and literally runs circles around and around her brother, "Jake."
They are as unique and amazing as any pair of 3 year olds can be.
We are one spoiled and happy family living a dogs life in Newport Beach, California.
Thank you Burt and Tracy for enriching our lifes.
Much love,
Jennifer, Mark, "Jake" and "Ky"
